# Nathaniel Clyne to return home from USA tour early for family reasons

Jurgen Klopp has given Nathaniel Clyne permission to fly home from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States early due to family reasons.

Clyne will fly home to England today, meaning he will not be available for the final game of the US tour against Manchester United in Michigan on Saturday evening.

Liverpool have announced, via the club’s[official website](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/tour-2018/309175-nathaniel-clyne-liverpool-fc-tour), that Clyne will join up with his teammates at the club’s training camp in France next week.

Clyne, who missed the majority of the 2017/18 season with a back injury, is expected to be Liverpool’s starting right-back on the first day of the Premier League season when West Ham travel to Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will only begin training a few days before the game against the Hammers as he was given an extended break after being part of the England squad who made it to the semi-final stage of the World Cup.

Therefore, Clyne is expected to feature against West Ham, and he should be available for selection.
