# ‘Nothing massively advanced’ – Journalist provides discouraging Liverpool transfer update

**Liverpool continue to engage in conversations for Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola with PSG.**

The Reds’ interest in both attackers is well documented, but in recent days, things appear to have taken a move on.

Various sources have confirmed that Mbaye has agreed personal terms with Liverpool and will sign a five-year deal if the two sides agree a fee.

However, David Lynch feels the deal isn’t as advanced as what’s being reported.

## Truth behind Ibrahim Mbaye to Liverpool links

He said, “You could agree personal terms with quite a few players, and then move forward on one of them and maybe kind of push a couple aside.

“That generally happens. Clubs do operate in that kind of way. I just don’t think as things stand you can guarantee he’s a target.

“He’s just one who’s definitely on the list but nothing massively advanced.”

What Lynch is saying makes sense, as it is natural for a club to speak to multiple players and test the waters over a potential transfer.

However, talks with Mbaye also involve his agent Jorge Mendes and the conversations have been ongoing for nearly a month now.

If Liverpool aren’t really interested in the player, they wouldn’t have wasted so much time with all their groundwork, so we’re hoping the Mbaye links are legitimate.
