# Ozil reportedly left out of squad to face Liverpool

Liverpool have been given a boost with Arsenal reportedly having left Mesut Özil out of their travelling squad ahead of this weekend’s game, according to [MailOnline](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6536595/Mesut-Ozil-appears-left-Arsenal-squad-Liverpool-clash.html).

The Reds take on the Gunners at Anfield on Saturday, where the travelling side will hope to be able to start closing the gap on their rivals.

Liverpool sit top of the Premier League table, six points clear of second place and 13 points away from Emery’s men, who will be coming off the back of a disappointing Boxing Day draw with Brighton.

Özil, who was substituted at half-time against the Seagulls in mid-week, has been embroiled in much paper talk recently, with speculation linking the Germany international with a move away from the Emirates.

And to add fuel to the fire, the 30-year old wasn’t picture earlier today among the rest of Arsenal’s squad, with Emery and his team having arrived on Merseyside on Friday evening.

While there hasn’t been any suggestions as to why the former Real Madrid man has been excluded, talk of training ground arguments and a falling out with manager Emery could lead to further rumours that Özil’s days in London are numbered.
