# Pako to return to be Liverpool’s No.2?

Liverpool will be going back in time as the look set to reappoint Pako Ayestaran as Brendan Rodgers’ number two at Anfield, suggest *The Mirror*.

The Reds have been without an assistant manager after Colin Pascoe announced he would be departing the former European champions last week.

The Spaniard spent three years at Anfield from 2004-2007 where he worked along new Real Madrid boss, Rafael Benitez.

Ayestaran spent last season out in Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv where he managed to win the treble in his first season as manager.

The 52-year-old has also been the number two at Benfica, Valencia and Tenerife.

He now looks set return to his former job where he hopes to assist Rodgers and Liverpool to a top four finish.
