# Patrick Bamford is better than Roberto Firmino, claims ex-footballer

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford is a better player than Roberto Firmino, according to former footballer Curtis Woodhouse.

Firmino has been one of the standout stars of the Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool, [scoring 84 goals](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/1288), registering 60 assists and leading the line in unique fashion.

The Brazilian’s form hasn’t always been good this season, however, while Bamford has shone for Leeds, [netting 11 times](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/109670/Show/Patrick-Bamford) in 20 Premier League appearances.

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/curtiswoodhous8/status/1355906539756941314?s=20) on Sunday, ex-journeyman Woodhouse claimed the Englishman is superior to the Liverpool superstar:

This is a remarkable opinion from Woodhouse, with Firmino a far superior player to Bamford.

That’s not to say that the Leeds man hasn’t been better in 2020/21 to date – he has, in fairness – but Liverpool’s No.9 is a regular starter for Brazil and has been a key man for arguably the world’s top club team for the last several years.

It can certainly be argued that Bamford is a stronger finisher on current form, but he doesn’t possess anywhere near Firmino’s level of intelligence and natural ability.

Firmino pass completion rate of [81.1 percent](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/96182/Show/Roberto-Firmino) is better than Bamford’s ([77.2%](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/109670/Show/Patrick-Bamford)) in the league this season, and he also outdoes him on tackles per game – 1.0 to 0.5 – highlighting his superior work off the ball.
