# Pedro Chirivella agrees terms with Nantes

Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chrivella looks set to make an exit from Anfield this summer as he’s reportedly agreed to join French side Nantes on a free transfer.

According to a report from French outlet [20 Minutes](https://www.20minutes.fr/sport/2775715-20200509-mercato-fc-nantes-milieu-liverpool-pedro-chirivella-doit-signer-fcn), the Spaniard has agreed terms with the Ligue 1 side and he will sign a three-year contract with them when his existing deal expires in the summer.

Chirivella joined Liverpool way back in 2013 but has played just 11 first-team games in that time and as such, it looks like he’s moving to France in search of more regular game time.

Nantes are one of the most successful clubs in the history of French football, with eight league titles to their name, so Chirivella will be joining another club with a rich past.

The 22-year-old played pretty well for the Reds in domestic cup competitions this season as Jurgen Klopp played second-string teams against the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Shrewsbury, but it’s difficult to see him ever breaking into the Liverpool first-team on a regular basis.

Klopp has numerous midfielders available to him and as such, there’s no clear path into the first-team for Chirivella.

Therefore, it makes sense for Liverpool to let the Spaniard leave and for the player himself to move to France and hopefully kick-start his career.
