# Pundit believes EPL rivals ‘will sell’ Liverpool target for the right price

Former Premier League defender Michael Dawson believes Leicester City ‘will sell’ [Youri Tielemans](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/21/virals-liverpool-target-youri-tielemans-ready-for-ucl-step/) if the right offer comes in.

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/23/noel-whelan-urges-liverpool-to-pay-whatever-it-is-to-keep-mohamed-salah/) have been [heavily linked](https://www.90min.com/posts/transfer-news-youri-tielemans-rejects-contract-offer-leicester-man-utd-liverpool-chelsea) with a move for the midfielder in recent months following the departure of Gini Wijnaldum.

The 24-year-old has further fuelled the fire by admitting he is [‘keeping options open’](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11712/12407832/youri-tielemans-leicester-city-midfielder-keeping-options-open-regarding-future) regarding his future.

Speaking on [Sky Sports News (12:59pm, October 23, 2021)](https://www.skysports.com/football), Dawson claimed that Leicester could be forced to allow their Belgian star to leave.

> If he really wants to stay, they will chuck the money at him. If the price is right, they will sell. If he wants to stay, he can stay. They will give him big money, they have big money. They will have to break the bank. He is an incredible talent, incredible.

Previous [reports](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/euro-transfer-gossip-liverpool-fee-tielemans-advantage-kostas-tsimikas-fenerbahce) have claimed that the Foxes will demand between €70-80million (£59-67million) for the [47-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youri-tielemans/nationalmannschaft/spieler/249565/verein_id/3382) ace.

This season Tielemans has [scored twice and registered three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youri-tielemans/leistungsdaten/spieler/249565) in 13 appearances across all competitions – earning an impressive [7.25 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/youri-tielemans/331737) from eight Premier League outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £49.50million and under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youri-tielemans/marktwertverlauf/spieler/249565)), that mooted asking price will soon be falling without a new contract on the horizon.

Perhaps a more [progressive-minded](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/136345/Show/Youri-Tielemans) midfielder than many of the current options currently available to Jurgen Klopp, Tielemans would be a worthwhile addition to the Reds’ squad.

With an eye for the spectacular, the Belgian would also [offer goals](https://www.premierleague.com/players/5865/Youri-Tielemans/stats) from deep – something that has been lacking at times at Anfield.
