# Rangers planning transfer talks for Liverpool’s Kent

Steven Gerrard is planning to hold talks with former side Liverpool over the permanent transfer of winger Ryan Kent.

[The Express report](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1069768/Rangers-transfer-news-Steven-Gerrard-talks-Liverpool-Ryan-Kent-deal-summer-gossip-Ibrox) that Rangers are keen to snap up the winger on a permanent basis after impressing on loan at the club.

Kent’s contract at Liverpool runs until 2020, but it remains to be seen what future the player has at the club.

The winger has three league goals in 10 starts this season and the club have clearly seen enough to convince them into a permanent deal.

Kent will be fully aware of the difficulty that awaits him in trying to break into the Liverpool squad going forward.

Jurgen Klopp is blessed with a plethora of options in the final third, making it difficult for young attackers to break through.

A host of Liverpool players have been linked with a loan move to Rangers since Gerrard took charge, but Kent looks like he could make a permanent switch.
