# Rangers will be given ‘first option’ to sign Ryan Kent from Liverpool

Glasgow Rangers will be given the first option to sign winger Ryan Kent on loan from Liverpool, should the Reds decide to send him out once again, according to a report from [STV](https://stv.tv/sport/football/1439155-rangers-will-have-first-option-to-re-sign-ryan-kent/).

Kent impressed last season whilst on loan at Rangers and the Scottish side are keen to sign him once again, either on loan or on a permanent deal.

However, the winger is likely to be priced out of a permanent switch to Ibrox but another loan deal could be on the cards.

Steven Gerrard has already taken Sheyi Ojo on loan and he could bring in Kent too, but he might have to wait a while before getting his man.

With Liverpool giving extended breaks to Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah following the AFCON, and with Xherdan Shaqiri nursing an injured calf, the Reds need wingers for their upcoming friendly matches and as such, they’re set to keep hold of Kent for a few more weeks before they let him leave on loan once again.

However, if no clubs come in with a suitable bid to sign Kent permanently, Liverpool will offer Rangers the first option to take him on a second loan at Ibrox.
