# Real Madrid end summer interest in Sadio Mane

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has ended the clubs interest in Liverpool forward Sadio Mane.

The Spanish giants have been linked with a summer switch for the Senegal international, however, according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, cited by the [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/780508/Liverpool-News-Real-Madrid-Florentino-Perez-Sadio-Mane-Transfer-Rumours-Gossip), Perez is thought to be put off by the Reds’ €200m valuation.

The report states that Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane remains eager to sign the forward, but president Perez has overruled him and has, therefore, ended the interest in the player.

Mane moved to Merseyside back in 2016 from Southampton, completing a £34m move.

Since then, the wide man has enjoyed numerous successful campaigns at Anfield, collecting the Premier League Golden Boot award alongside Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this season.

Mane struck 22 times in the league, as Jurgen Klopp’s side missed out on a first Premier League title to Manchester City.

However, it appears as if Mane will definitely be around the Liverpool squad again next season after the latest news.
