# Reliable journalist confirms Liverpool’s interest in world-class trio

Liverpool are interested in signing [Kai Havertz](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/01/31/reliable-journalist-says-leverkusen-are-expecting-liverpool-to-bid-for-havertz/), [Jadon Sancho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/12/28/liverpools-interest-in-jadon-sancho-confirmed/) and [Kylian Mbappe](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/12/10/mbappe-reportedly-unhappy-at-psg-amid-liverpool-links/) this summer, according to the *[Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/liverpool-transfer-news-mbappe-sancho-havertz-summer-melissa-reddy-a9314306.html)*‘s Melissa Reddy.

The Reds have been linked with all three players this season, ahead of what could be a busy summer at Anfield.

Reddy states that it would be ‘utterly ridiculous’ for Liverpool not to be looking at the trio, confirming their interest at the same time.

Realistically, I doubt the Reds would be able to afford more than one of with [Reddy reporting](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/liverpool-transfer-news-mbappe-sancho-havertz-summer-melissa-reddy-a9314306.html) that Havertz will cost over £80m, whilst Sancho and Mbappe would demand even larger fees.

All three linked players are all world-class footballers, in my opinion, and Liverpool’s interest in them is proof of the strides they have made under Jurgen Klopp.

Havertz has chipped in with [four goals and two assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/326413/Show/Kai-Havertz) for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga this season and he would bring more guile to midfield areas.

That’s nothing against the likes of Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum, but his average of [2.3 key passes per game](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/326413/Show/Kai-Havertz) in the league this season is superior to the duo, who have averaged [1.0](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/68659/Show/Jordan-Henderson) and [0.3](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/33568/Show/Georginio-Wijnaldum) respectively.

Sancho has scored [29 goals](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jadon_Sancho#Career_statistics) for Borussia Dortmund in the last two-and-a-half seasons, with his pace, end product and potential making him a hugely exciting prospect who could eventually be a long-term successor to Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah.

Mbappe would be my ideal choice, however – I believe he is the best player of his generation.

At just 21, he is already a World Cup winner with [over 100 career goals](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kylian_Mbapp%C3%A9#Career_statistics) to his name, and he could be a truly stunning signing for Liverpool.

Similar in style to Thierry Henry, he would be electrifying in the Reds’ attack, combining blistering speed with quick feet and unpredictability in the final third.

My prediction would be that Havertz is the man Liverpool sign, with Sancho deemed too expensive and Mbappe moving to Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain.
