# Report: €30m Kovacic bid imminent

According to *Tuttosport*, Liverpool are ready to take the plunge and travel to Milan at the beginning of next week, to close a deal to sign Mateo Kovacic.

Inter are reluctant to anger their fans, as would be the case if they sell the Croatian midfielder, but it has been suggested by Italian reports that the Nerazzurri will not resist the €30m bid that the Reds are supposedly preparing to submit.

*Tuttosport* claim that the fee received by Inter would allow them to pursue Belgian-born midfielder Giannelli Imbula, for whom Olympique Marseille want €20m.

Inter have also been linked with Monaco’s Geoffrey Kondogbia, and are tracking Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah.

Steven Jovetic, who plays for Inter boss Roberto Mancini’s former employers Manchester City, has also been touted for a move to Italy.

*Tuttosport’s* report must be taken with a pinch of salt, as they had previously said that a deal had been agreed between Liverpool and Inter for Kovacic, and this was after they had ran quotes from the player that suggested that was inaccurate.

He said: “*For now I’m still happy in Italy, but we’ll see about the future. Now I’m thinking about my holidays. I only know that I’m due back at Appiano Gentile on July 5th. That’s why I haven’t heard anyone from the club yet*.”

Roberto Mancini told *Sky Italia* last week*:* *“Kovacic will become a champion.*

*“He is young, but has already improved* *a lot. I think he will stay at Inter.*

*“I don’t think there is anything going on with him regarding a transfer.”*
