# Reporter provides update on Liverpool’s pursuit of Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland would be keen on playing for Liverpool, according to *[Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/)* reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The Borussia Dortmund striker is arguably the [most exciting](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/borussia-dortmund/story/4226109/why-dortmund-star-erling-haaland-could-become-the-worlds-best-footballer) young player in the world at the moment, having scored [43 goals in just 44 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/erling-haaland/alletore/spieler/418560) for the Bundesliga giants.

Liverpool have been one of the clubs [linked](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-transfer-news-erling-haaland-19358652) with an audacious move for Haaland, although there is little indication that he will leave Dortmund this summer.

Haaland will cost a enormous amount of money, however, which acts as an immediate stumbling block, with someone like Manchester City in a stronger position financially.
