# Revealed: Liverpool’s biggest competition in transfer battle for Ibrahim Mbaye

**Liverpool’s interest in PSG attacker Ibrahim Mbaye hit the mainstream media yesterday.**

Since then, the Anfield faithful have gone into overdrive on social media as they look ahead to see if the Reds can complete his signing.

Liverpool remain locked in talks with PSG for Bradley Barcola as well, so this is truly an unprecedented situation for officials from both clubs.

Much like Barcola, Mbaye is also a wanted man, as most Premier League and Bundesliga clubs have thrown their hat into the ring.

And now, according to reports from France, Liverpool’s biggest threats have been revealed.

## Borussia Dortmund to rival Liverpool for Mbaye

With Maghnes Akliouche and Mika Godts set to join PSG, Mbaye’s game time is likely to drop further during the forthcoming season.

He has been in talks to leave the club for months now, but no move has materialised. Bayer Leverkusen have had a bid rejected for the young attacker, while Liverpool are waiting to see what his official price tag is before making an offer.

And [L’Equipe](https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2026/borussia-dortmund-to-rival-liverpool-in-the-race-to-sign-psg-winger-ibrahim-mbaye/) report that Borussia Dortmund are Liverpool’s biggest threat in the race for Mbaye, with the two sides holding an upper hand over the rest.

Both sides have already presented their ideas, so the young attacker is expected to sit down with his family – and super agent Jorge Mendes – before deciding his next move.
