# Roma looking to snap up Liverpool target Leon Bailey

Liverpool face competition from Roma in their pursuit of Leon Bailey, with Monchi hoping to secure a cut-price deal for the winger.

According to reports in Italy from [Sport Mediaset](https://www.sportmediaset.mediaset.it/mercato/roma/roma-ora-e-caccia-all-esterno-bailey-sogno-di-monchi_1231363-201802a.shtml), Roma are keen to bring him into the club this summer but do not want to meet Bayer Leverkusen’s €50 million asking price.

Roma want to add another wide player to their squad before the end of the Italian transfer window.

Bailey is believed to be their first-choice target, but Monchi wants to lower the price for any deal to take place.

While Bailey has been earmarked as a target, they are also considering moves for Taison, Marlos and Lyon’s Maxwel Cornet.

Both Liverpool and Chelsea were heavily linked with the Bailey throughout the summer transfer window but did not make a move.

The Reds are said to be long-term admirers of the player and could reignite their interest during the next transfer window.
