# Sampdoria Consider Move for Mario

Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is a target for Sampdoria, according to a report by Darren Lewis in The Mirror.

Balotelli’s £16m move to The Reds has seemingly failed, and the Serie A club appear to be one place where Liverpool could look to offload him to, if that’s their wish.

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero is quoted as saying: “*Balotelli at Sampdoria? Should the player come to Italy we would open our doors*.”

This comes on the back of comments he said “*Balotelli is a great name. He’d  suit a lot of teams. I’d take him at Sampdoria in a heartbeat. A partnership of Eto’o and Balotelli would be fantastic.*“

Liverpool tooka a gamble on the Italian striker last summer but it looks like that risk won’t pay off. Balotelli has only scored four goals in all competitions this season, and has been criticised by Brendan Rodgers on more than one occasion.
