# Sepp van den Berg linked with three clubs ahead of potential loan move

Liverpool centre-back Sepp van den Berg could leave the club on loan this month, according to [https://www.goal.com/en/news/liverpool-van-den-berg-loan-belgian-german-swiss-clubs/ujes4u7f3hlg1vm7eu1i9g63u](https://www.goal.com/en/news/liverpool-van-den-berg-loan-belgian-german-swiss-clubs/ujes4u7f3hlg1vm7eu1i9g63u)*[Goal](https://www.goal.com/en/news/liverpool-van-den-berg-loan-belgian-german-swiss-clubs/ujes4u7f3hlg1vm7eu1i9g63u)*‘s Neil Jones.

The young Dutchman has struggled to fully settle since [joining](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48755456) from PEC Zwolle in the summer of 2019.

Van den Berg has made just [four first team appearances](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/1335) to date, with his last showing coming against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup back in September.

Jones claims that one club in Belgium, Germany and Switzerland apiece are all eyeing up a loan move for the 19-year-old, with Liverpool holding talks with the trio.

It is believed the Reds are willing to let Van den Berg leave temporarily, despite their current [injuries](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/sperrenundverletzungen/verein/31) in defence.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

Sending Van den Berg out on loan looks a shrewd decision, allowing him to earn more regular playing time and grow as a footballer.

At the moment, he is very much stuck in Liverpool’s Under-23s setup, with the likes of Rhys Williams and Nathaniel Phillips preferred to him by Jurgen Klopp.

Van den Berg has been a slightly [underwhelming](https://thisisfutbol.com/2019/12/twitter/liverpool-many-fans-slam-sepp-van-den-berg-for-latest-performance/) addition so far, but a loan move could be the making of him, allowing him to return to Anfield a more rounded, mature player.
