# Sevilla consider making approach for Mamadou Sakho

Spanish La Liga club Sevilla are considering an offer for Liverpool’s out of favour centre-back Mamadou Sakho after the Frenchman impressed during a loan spell at Crystal Palace last season, according to [​Football Espana](https://www.football-espana.net/65260/sevilla-ponder-liverpools-sakho).

The Frenchman has been told by German manager Jurgen Klopp that he is not part of his plans for the upcoming season and the defender has been looking for a new club for a while now.

The Anfield club have valued Sakho at £30m, a fee which is putting off several teams who are reportedly interested in signing him.

Sevilla will first try to negotiate a lower price for Sakho before officially targeting him and should Liverpool not budge on their valuation, then the Spanish club will look elsewhere for a defender.

Sevilla are looking for a defender after losing Adil Rami to Marseille earlier this summer.

It is understood that the La Liga side will settle for a loan deal for Sakho if Liverpool don’t agree on a price with them and would want to include an option to buy the defender after the loan spell concludes.

Sakho has been left out of Liverpool’s squad for the Premier League Asia Trophy as he looks to sort out his future before the new season begins.
