# Sevilla preparing mega offer to sign Shaqiri this summer

Sevilla are preparing a mega offer to sign Xherdan Shaqiri this summer, according to [Blick](https://www.blick.ch/sport/fussball/international/premierleague/super-angebot-geplant-dieser-top-klub-ist-heiss-auf-shaqiri-id15825944.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social_page&utm_campaign=bli), via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/signs-are-goodbye-club-preparing-mega-offer-for-liverpool-player/).

The 28-year-old is expected to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, having fallen out of favour under Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds are believed to want between [£16 million and £18 million](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/04/01/liverpool-to-demand-beqween-16m-18m-for-shaqiri-this-summer/) for Shaqiri’s services, with Roma and CSKA Moscow among those keen on signing him.

It is Sevilla who appear to be leading the race, however, with a ‘lucrative multi-year contract’ mentioned in the report.

I think it makes total sense for all parties to move Shaqiri on, allowing the Swiss more playing time and giving Liverpool the chance to sign a superior replacement.

Milot Rashica has been mooted as a summer arrival for the Reds – he is a younger alternative with [10 goals and four assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/289014/Show/Milot-Rashica) for Werder Bremen this season.

It is easy to forget that Liverpool paid just £13 million to sign Shaqiri, and it looks as though they should make that back and more this summer, having got some useful contributions from him, such as his two match-winning goals against Manchester United or his pinpoint cross to Gini Wijnaldum in the famous comeback win against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final.

That is fantastic business if it proves to be case, highlighting the continued good work of Klopp and Michael Edwards in the transfer market.
