# Sheffield United target Woodburn loan swoop

Sheffield United are the latest team to express an interest in signing Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn on loan.

[According to the Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-star-ben-woodburn-wanted-12944452?_ga=2.108545154.1665731108.1531923525-1341680312.1523700261), Chris Wilder’s men are looking at Woodburn as a possible replacement for David Brooks.

The highly-rated Welsh youngster left United for Bournemouth earlier in the transfer window.

Brooks, who had previously been linked with Liverpool, completed a £11 million move to the Vitality Stadium.

Woodburn has been heavily linked with a temporary move away from Anfield this summer.

The youngster was on the fringes of the first-team squad last season but was unable to break into the side on a regular basis, making just two appearances in all competitions.

There had been suggestions that Jurgen Klopp wanted to keep the player close to the first-team squad for the sake of his development, but a loan move would offer him the chance to play regular first-team football.
