# Sterling set for showdown talks with Liverpool this week

**According to reports, Raheem Sterling is set to tell Liverpool that he won’t sign a new contract.**

Numerous media outlets are reporting that Sterling will meet with Brendan Rodgers and Ian Ayre for contract talks later this week, where he is set to tell them that he intends not to sign a new deal.

Sterling apparently feels that the club have tried to bully him into signing a new contract, and have not protected him enough from negative headlines.

Sterling is also said to be angry that news of previous contract negotiations were leaked.

However, it’s not guaranteed that he will hand in a transfer request and Sterling has agreed to discussion with the club, where Liverpool will do all they can to convince him to stay.

Sterling still has two years left on his existing deal and the club have tried to extend that, however Sterling is said to feel undervalued by the current £90,000 a week deal currently on offer.

Sky Sports say they put the story to Liverpool officials who told them that their position remains unchanged and that the player is not for sale.
