# Stoke keeping an eye on Sakho’s situation

Stoke City are monitoring Mamadou Sakho’s situation at Anfield and may enter the race for his signature, according to [The Sunday Express](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/626614/Stoke-Mamadou-Sakho-Liverpool-transfer-news).

Potters boss Mark Hughes is on the hunt for a new centre-back this summer and may see Sakho as the perfect fit.

However, Liverpool values the defender at £30 million, with Stoke not willing to match Liverpool’s asking price and will only do business with the Reds if they lower their asking fee for the Frenchman.

The centre-back impressed during the second half of last season as he joined Crystal Palace on loan for the remainder of the season, and helped guide them to safety, but Palace owner Steve Parish has admitted that re-signing Sakho this summer was “not going to work out”.

Sakho has made 56 appearances for Liverpool since joining them in 2013 from Paris Saint-Germain and is believed to be keen on staying in the Premier League.

An offer in the region of £30m will see Liverpool allow Sakho to complete a permanent transfer away from Anfield but as of yet, no club are willing to meet that asking price.
