# ‘Third bid’ – Journalist makes big claim on £70m-rated Liverpool transfer target

**Liverpool’s search for attacking reinforcements is set to continue deep into the summer transfer window.**

With under ten days to go, the Reds have signed only Victor Munoz and are a little short of quality, numbers and pace on the flanks after Mohamed Salah’s departure and Hugo Ekitike’s long-term injury.

Various sources have confirmed that [Liverpool are interested in signing Yankuba Minteh, who Brighton value at around £70m](https://readliverpoolfc.com/news/advanced-journalist-says-all-parties-confident-70m-player-will-join-liverpool/).

The Reds have already had two bids turned down for the Gambian winger, but now, Ben Jacobs confirms that they are pondering whether to make a third offer.

“Contact expected even though both sides have a game, as Liverpool decide whether to make a third bid.”

Over the years, we’ve seen that Liverpool usually do their business early and walk away from deals if the price gets excessive.

However, this summer, the situation is a little different as they have a lot of work to do at the business end of the summer transfer window.

Liverpool can’t really get good value for players at this stage of the summer as their desperation is known to teams across the continent.

That puts them in a bit of a pickle as they ponder their next move. Ongoing talks for Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye are also worth considering, while Minteh’s current injury is another factor that will influence their decision.
