# ‘Very close’ – Chris Sutton makes bold scoreline prediction for Liverpool vs Arsenal

**Liverpool and Arsenal will lock horns at Anfield on Sunday in what promises to be an intriguing game of Premier League football.**

Mikel Arteta’s side are the defending champions and lead the way this season as they aim to make it back-to-back Premier League title wins.

The Reds, on the other hand, have developed admirably under Andoni Iraola after a lukewarm start and will look to win only their second Premier League game at Anfield this season.

And Chris Sutton believes the Gunners will walk away with maximum points despite Liverpool’s recent run across all competitions.

## Chris Sutton predicts Liverpool to lose 1-0 to Arsenal

“Liverpool proved me wrong against Brighton last week, because they didn’t just win, they played well too,” wrote the Englishman in his column for the [BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cq1m4j79x50jo).

“After conceding so many goals last season, you can see they have really tightened things up. Arsenal don’t give much away either, so this is going to be very close.

“Alexander Isak is scoring goals again for the Reds, and they will be full of confidence coming into this game.

“You could make a case for it ending up a repeat of the result we saw at the end of last season, when Dominik Szoboszlai’s brilliant free-kick meant Liverpool edged a 1-0 win. I do think we will see the same scoreline, just with a different winner.”

Both sides have their fair share of injury concerns, but Liverpool could be boosted by the return of Dom Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz.

Last season, the Hungarian’s brilliant free-kick settled the game at Anfield, but that was 14 months ago when Arsenal hadn’t won the title.

They are surely a different beast now, but Iraola and co have also been hard to beat this season and certainly won’t be pushovers.
