# Virals: AC Milan interested in Liverpool striker Divock Origi

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/12/pundit-sympathetic-after-difficult-afternoon-for-alex-oxlade-chamberlain/) striker [Divock Origi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/08/pundits-discuss-tremendous-divock-origi-following-ucl-winning-goal/) is reportedly of interest to Serie A giants AC Milan as the January transfer window approaches.

The 26 year old Belgian has enjoyed an upturn in form in recent weeks and fired home the [winner in the San Siro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jchEiQ7ysY) as the Reds overcame Stefano Pioli’s side 2-1.

Despite the continued exploits, Origi has been perenially [linked with a move away](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12408919/jurgen-klopp-surprised-at-lack-of-summer-interest-in-divock-origi-obviously-people-dont-watch-football-enough) from Merseyside and this season could yet be a final hoorah at the club.

According to a report from [TuttoMarketWeb](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/tmw-origi-nome-caldissimo-per-la-serie-a-ci-pensano-milan-e-atalanta-1620499), as cited by [https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition)[Anfield Edition](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition) on Twitter, there is interest from two Italian outfits.

The report claims that both AC Milan and Atalanta are ‘on the trail’ of the [31-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148368/verein_id/3382) Belgium international.

So far this season Origi – recently hailed as a [‘world-class’](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n362MjzNqhw) finisher by Pep Lijnders – has scored five and provided two assists in 10 fleeting appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £10.8million and out of contract in the summer of 2022 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148368)), in an ideal world, Liverpool would either extend or cash in next month.

However, the upcoming [Africa Cup of Nations](https://www.cafonline.com/total-africa-cup-of-nations/) complicates matters as Origi will be required to cover the short-term absence of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Despite recent events, ultimately Klopp may seek an [improvement in quality](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) as a frontline understudy.

Whatever happens over the Belgian’s future, the enigmatic striker will go down in Reds’ folklore for his involvement in some of the [maddest and most glorious moments](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/393369-kop-10-your-favourite-divock-origi-moments) in modern history.
