# Virals: Arsenal ‘consider move’ for Liverpool striker Divock Origi

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/30/virals-liverpool-sporting-director-michael-edwards-expected-to-step-down/) could be about to face late interest in striker [Divock Origi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/27/origi-no-offers-despite-interest/) at the end of the summer transfer window.

Less than [48 hours](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12257542/summer-transfer-window-2021-when-does-it-open-news-dates-and-deadline-day) before the deadline, the Belgian is reportedly being lined up as a possible replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal.

Following [speculation](https://metro.co.uk/2021/08/28/juventus-make-aubameyang-transfer-decision-as-they-eye-cristiano-ronaldo-replacement-15167132/) that Juventus could target the Gabon international as a successor to Cristiano Ronaldo, Origi has been touted as a possible candidate to head to the Gunners.

That’s according to a report from [The Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1482888/arsenal-pierre-emerick-aubameyang-juventus-premier-league-transfer-news), as cited by [TalkOfTheKop](https://twitter.com/TalkOfTheKop_/status/1432048302288216072) on Twitter.

The report claims that the North London side could opt for the [29 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148368) Belgian solution should Aubameyang leave.

Origi is yet to feature for the Reds this season and has been [left out of the previous two matchday squads](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdaten/spieler/148368) entirely.

Last season the ace once hailed as [‘unreal’](https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/klopp-praises-outstanding-origi-after-derby-win) by Caoimhín Kelleher only [scored once](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/148368) in 17 appearances across all competitions.

Whether it be Arsenal or otherwise, it comes as little surprise that the report states Liverpool remain open to offers for the [out of favour](https://theathletic.co.uk/2785444/2021/08/26/divock-origis-future-is-very-much-still-up-in-the-air-though-his-place-in-liverpool-folklore-is-set-in-stone/) Belgian.

Albeit the 26-year-old is held in high regard due to a host of [iconic goals](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/GoalsPerMatchRole/1276-0), ultimately Origi has proven to be beneath the level required all too often.

Whilst a move to the Emirates Stadium seems unlikely given the sheer amount of stipulations, there has been [recent interest](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1431165545186013185?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1431165545186013185%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Freadliverpoolfc.com%2F%3Fp%3D119912) from elsewhere.

Valued at £10.8million and under contract until 2022 at Anfield ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148368)), selling the forward and even finding a replacement before the looming deadline must still be on the agenda.
