# Virals: Barcelona eye Liverpool midfielder Thiago for ‘possible return’

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/11/12/virals-liverpool-forward-sadio-mane-suffers-injury-scare-for-senegal/) midfielder Thiago is believed to be under consideration for a ‘possible return’ to Barcelona.

The 30-year-old Spaniard arrived at Anfield in 2020 from Bayern Munich having previously spent his [entire career](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thiago/transfers/spieler/60444) at the Catalan giants.

Since becoming a Red the cultured ace has struggled for his best form due to [persistent injuries](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thiago/verletzungen/spieler/60444) and adapting to a new league.

Now according to Portuguese journalist, [Pedro Almeida](https://twitter.com/pedrogva6/status/1458426315560964110) on Twitter, new Barca manager Xavi could look to take Thiago back to the Camp Nou.

Almeida claims that the [46-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thiago/nationalmannschaft/spieler/60444/verein_id/3375) Spain star is ‘very appreciated’ by his former midfield colleague.

Thiago has made [37 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thiago/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/60444) since arriving on Merseyside, scoring once and providing one assist.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Irrespective of what has gone before Liverpool have a [high-quality player](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thiago/erfolge/spieler/60444) on their hands in Thiago.

Jurgen Klopp will still be [underwhelmed](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12219427/thiago-alcantara-struggling-to-impress-at-liverpool-serial-fouling-hints-at-jurgen-klopps-stretched-midfield) by what he has managed to get out of the Spaniard thus far but nonetheless will recognise the ability.

Whilst the [£22.5million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thiago/marktwertverlauf/spieler/60444) ace is yet to set the world alight at Anfield, this is not the moment to be calling time on Thiago just yet.
