# Virals: Brentford make enquiry for Liverpool winger Harry Wilson

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/12/virals-liverpool-ready-to-join-the-auction-for-domenico-berardi/) winger [Harry Wilson](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/06/virals-fc-porto-interested-in-liverpool-winger-harry-wilson/) is expected to leave the club this summer on a permanent basis after a number of loan spells.

The 24-year-old has [attracted admiration](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/latest-championship-transfer-rumours-wilson-18325244) from West Brom, Swansea City and Leeds United in recent weeks as the Reds seek to find a new home for the 24-year-old.

Also believed to be a [target](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpools-harry-wilson-attracting-interest-20901587) for Portuguese top-flight duo Porto and Benfica, it seems there is no shortage of takers for the Welshman.

According to a report from [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-brentford-make-approach-to-sign-wilson-as-liverpool-updated-stance-revealed/), as cited by the outlet’s [official Twitter account](https://twitter.com/footyinsider247/status/1414557126433857537), newly promoted Brentford are the latest club to show a major interest.

The report claims the Bees have ‘contacted’ Liverpool regarding the [29 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/nationalmannschaft/spieler/279455/verein_id/3864) Wales star and cited the £15million price tag.

Since coming through the youth ranks on Merseyside, Wilson has made just [two first-team appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/279455) for the Anfield club – instead, spending loan spells at Cardiff City, Bournemouth, Derby County and Hull City.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Selling Wilson permanently this summer is exactly the [type of business the Reds need](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-sell-11-players-millions-20264292) to be completing in order to boost Jurgen Klopp’s own budget.

Despite enjoying a number of [relatively successful stints](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279455) away from the club, none have been eye-catching enough to force the way into the senior plans at Liverpool.

Perhaps that’s less down to the ability of the ace [hailed](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/55344482) as ‘magic’ by Neil Harris and more due to [sharing the same position](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdaten/spieler/279455) as Mohamed Salah, Xherdan Shaqiri and more recently, Harvey Elliott.

Valued at £15.3million and under contract until 2023 at Anfield ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/marktwertverlauf/spieler/279455)), the mooted £15million demands are certainly reasonable.
