# Virals: Brighton ‘poised’ to offer £15m for Liverpool ace Nat Phillips

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/19/virals-james-pearce-claims-uncertainty-over-jordan-hendersons-future/) could be about to receive a first concrete offer for central defender [Nat Phillips](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/23/burnley-approach-liverpool-phillips/) this summer.

The 24-year-old enjoyed an [unlikely rise to prominence](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/the-bolton-baresi-how-nat-phillips-became-liverpools-latest-cult-/34baotio0cwl1owxa0vvx8cmo) last season in the wake of a crippling injury crisis at Anfield and looked to have forged a career with the Reds.

However, the club’s resolve could be about to be tested to the full as clubs [across the Premier League](https://metro.co.uk/2021/06/23/liverpool-set-price-for-nat-phillips-amid-burnley-interest-14815442/) gear up to make their interest in the Bolton-born ace known.

According to a report from [TalkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/913945/brighton-transfer-news-liverpool-nat-phillips-replace-ben-white/), as cited by [Football Transfers](https://twitter.com/Transferzone00/status/1417040019651395585) on Twitter, Brighton are set to show their hand.

The report states that Phillips will be allowed to leave if ‘the opportunity to play regular first-team football presents itself’ whilst highlighting the ace as a possible replacement for the [Arsenal bound](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57873034) Ben White.

Last season the Englishman played a key role in guiding the Reds to a third-place finish – earning an average [Sofascore rating of 7.19](https://www.sofascore.com/player/nathaniel-phillips/920393) from an outstanding 17 Premier League outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Having won the hearts, minds and [admiration from Kopites](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-nat-phillips-song-fans-20661598) all over the land, Phillips will forever be a cult hero on Merseyside.

But, realistically as Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip return to fitness, supplemented by the addition of Ibrahima Konate, the [£7.2million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nathaniel-phillips/marktwertverlauf/spieler/371814) defender is unlikely to see another opportunity for some time at Anfield – something he has proven to be ready for.

As Jurgen Klopp [looks to strengthen the ranks](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-sell-11-players-millions-20264292) elsewhere, selling Phillips for the mooted £15million would be a huge boost to the coffers and could ultimately be enough to part ways with the Bolton Baresi.
