Bayern Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has opened up on the future of reported [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/28/virals-liverpool-want-fc-porto-star-luis-diaz-as-soon-as-possible/) target [Florian Wirtz](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/27/virals-liverpool-keep-in-touch-regarding-long-term-target-florian-wirtz/).

The 18-year-old continues to [attract major attention](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10138549/Newcastle-United-Scout-sent-watch-Florian-Wirtz-play-Bayer-Leverkusen.html#:~:text=The%2018%2Dyear%2Dold%20has,international%20to%20the%20Premier%20League.) from across Europe following a host of impressive performances.

Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham have all [cast an eye](https://www.90min.com/posts/man-utd-liverpool-transfer-florian-wirtz-leverkusen-bundesliga) on the teenager.

Now, Voller has told German outlet [Bild](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/fussball/bayer-leverkusen-voeller-in-bild-wirtz-ist-bei-uns-noch-jahre-gut-aufgehoben-78648518.bild.html#fromWall) that the attacking midfielder should stay at the BayArena for the foreseeable future at least.

> Not only because of the contractual situation – also because of the trust we have built-in him and his family, we know that he will be in good hands here for a few more years. At some point, maybe that day will come and this club will be too small for Florian, similar to Kai \[Havertz\]. But that will still take a while. \[My\] wish is that Florian will stay with us for a few more years. That is important for us and for the whole of the Bundesliga and I think it’s his plan too.

Previously the same outlet has claimed Leverkusen wouldn’t sell the [four-cap Germany starlet](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/florian-wirtz/nationalmannschaft/spieler/598577/verein_id/3262) until 2023 and will demand €100million (£84million).

So far this season the man once described as [‘extremely talented’](https://bulinews.com/news/5193/leverkusen-coach-peter-bosz-heaps-praise-record-breaking-debutant-florian-wirtz) by Peter Bosz has [scored eight and provided 11 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/florian-wirtz/leistungsdaten/spieler/598577) in 21 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Signing the talented Wirtz would be an [outstanding piece of business](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/394786/Show/Florian-Wirtz) from whichever club pulls it off.

Supremely talented and [already thriving at the elite level](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/florian-wirtz/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/598577) despite his tender years, the former FC Koln youngster looks primed to perform at the top table for many years to come.

Despite possessing plenty of quality, Jurgen Klopp’s [midfield department](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) is an ageing one outside of Harvey Elliott, Tyler Morton and Curtis Jones.

Therefore, whenever the time comes, Liverpool should be at the front of the queue to bring the [£63million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/florian-wirtz/marktwertverlauf/spieler/598577) ace to the Premier League.
