# Virals: Divock Origi to Fenerbahce ‘progressing very quickly’

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/02/virals-alex-oxlade-chamberlain-has-impressed-during-training/) could be about to complete a transfer despite the UK deadline being a distant memory.

All was quiet on the Anfield front on deadline day in terms of incomings, whilst Rhys Williams, Sheyi Ojo and Jake Cain [all left the club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/transfers/verein/31) on season-long loan deals.

Nearly 48 hours later, there could be another departure on the cards as out of favour striker [Divock Origi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/31/john-aldridge-urges-divock-origi-to-move-on-from-liverpool/) seemingly edges towards a move to Fenerbahce.

That’s according to a report from [Fotospor](https://www.fotospor.com/haber-fenerbahce-ali-kocun-ucagi-liverpoolda-divock-origiyi-bekliyor-460313?__cf_chl_jschl_tk__=pmd_ltY0TFQr0huSPuuyCykit4g4758h5uR9ZKZDKNPhZG4-1630578830-0-gqNtZGzNAvujcnBszQiR) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/clubs-talks-sign-liverpool-player-progressing-quickly-chiefs-plane-waiting-want-deal-done-today/)), as cited by journalist [Zeki UZUNDURUKAN](https://twitter.com/ZekiUzundurukan) on Twitter.

The report claims talks are ‘progressing very quickly and positively’ between the clubs and a ‘plane is waiting in Liverpool’ for the [29 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148368/verein_id/3382) Belgian.

Origi has been [left out](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdaten/spieler/148368) of the last two Premier League matchday squads having [struggled to make an impact](https://www.sofascore.com/player/divock-origi/190399) last season.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Five days ago this would’ve been music to the ears of Kopites everywhere.

But, with the normal market closed to incomings, allowing one of the few remaining [attacking options](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) to leave would be a wholly irresponsible decision.

Unless the club have a [free agent](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/vertragslosespieler) of sufficient quality lined up as a replacement, the [£10.8million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148368) 26-year-old simply cannot be sold.

Perhaps this deal could be [revisited in January](https://www.football.london/premier-league/january-transfer-window-2022-open-21440961) when Jurgen Klopp can seek a suitable successor.
