# Virals: Fabinho admits he ‘expected’ Raphinha to arrive at Liverpool

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/14/virals-liverpool-preparing-new-82m-mohamed-salah-contract-offer/) midfielder [Fabinho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/14/virals-fabinho-discusses-options-on-returning-from-international-duty/) has admitted that he ‘expected’ Leeds United forward Raphinha to become a Red over the summer.

The 24-year-old was [heavily linked](https://www.liverpool.com/liverpool-fc-news/transfer-news/raphinha-liverpool-transfer-leeds-klopp-21543480) with a move to Anfield but the transfer failed to materialise as the Brazilian stayed at Elland Road.

Speaking to reporters (via [Globo Esporte](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/selecao-brasileira/noticia/noticias-selecao-brasileira-fabinho-volante-criticas-jogar-bem-vencer-convencer.ghtml?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Social&utm_content=Esporte&utm_campaign=globoesportecom)), as cited by [The Anfield Talk](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldTalk/status/1448601446350565376) on Twitter, Fabinho tipped the newly-capped senior international to continue to flourish in the Premier League.

> He’s the best player in the team, we know he’s the one who can cause the most danger

Meanwhile, agent of the former Stade Rennes attacker Deco has told [Globo Esporte](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/selecao-brasileira/noticia/noticias-selecao-brasileira-raphinha-leeds-liverpool-mercado-da-bola-deco-empresario.ghtml) that Liverpool ‘do like’ Raphninha.

The former Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder confirmed ‘approaches’ were made during the summer but Leeds wanted to keep the [skilful ace](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmzeWKFTavE) for another season.

So far this season Raphinha has [scored three times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/leistungsdaten/spieler/411295) in the Premier League for Marcelo Bielsa’s side – earning a [7.10 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/raphinha/831005) in the process.

Signing [additional options](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) in attacking areas is among the list of next priorities for Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp.

Predominantly a right-winger, Raphinha can [play across the frontline](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/411295) and boasts an array of attributes that make it clear to see why there is indeed interest.

Valued at £28.80million and under contract in Yorkshire until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/marktwertverlauf/spieler/411295)), Leeds hold all the cards but judging by Deco’s disposition, a move away could be the Brazilian’s destiny.
