# Virals: Fabrizio Romano claims Liverpool are in the mix to sign Raphinha

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/03/14/virals-liverpool-interested-in-real-sociedad-striker-alexander-isak/) are reportedly still in the mix to sign Leeds United winger [Raphinha](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/08/virals-liverpool-hold-genuine-interest-in-epl-star-raphinha/) ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old is hot property following a [superb first 18 months](https://www.sofascore.com/player/raphinha/831005) in England having joined from French Ligue 1 club Rennes.

Barcelona are also believed to be in the hunt, whilst Chelsea were keen before recent [complications](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-10607545/Former-Chelsea-owner-Ken-Bates-slams-sanctions-imposed-club.html) involving ownership.

That’s according to reliable journalist [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1503303443859054592) on Twitter.

Capped on [seven occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/nationalmannschaft/spieler/411295/verein_id/3439) by Brazil, Raphinha has been a revelation since arriving in the Premier League.

So far this season the skilful ace – once [described](https://www.skysports.com/jermaine-beckford) as ‘phenomenal’ by Jermaine Beckford – has [scored nine times and provided three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/leistungsdaten/spieler/411295) in 27 league appearances.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £36million and under contract at Elland Road until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/marktwertverlauf/spieler/411295)), signing the Brazilian would be an expensive move for the Reds.

Predominantly operating from the right-wing, Raphinha would be a viable option to support and perhaps even potentially replace Mohamed Salah in the long term amidst [speculation](https://twitter.com/Transferzone00/status/1503319128563609600) and interest, also from Barcelona.

Albeit there is undoubtedly a [significant drop off](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/player-comparison) in goal output, the Leeds star still has room for development and Jurgen Klopp would be the ideal man to oversee it.
