# Virals: Fabrizio Romano confirms Marko Grujic will join FC Porto

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/19/virals-boost-for-liverpool-as-saul-niguez-swap-deal-hits-the-rocks/) midfielder [Marko Grujic](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/19/virals-neil-jones-names-duo-that-will-be-100-leaving-liverpool/) looks set to be announced as an FC Porto player on a permanent basis in the near future.

The 25-year-old has seemingly been [destined for a departure](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/marko-grujic-liverpool-important-role-21061752) this summer following a successful loan spell in Portugal last season.

Grujic had appeared to have [left the Reds’ training camp](https://twitter.com/JorgemfTavares/status/1417277723148488705) in Austria in order to complete the switch and reports on Monday night suggested a move was imminent.

Reliable journalist [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1417314035935195141) confirmed that an agreement had been found on Twitter before delving into the finer details.

Despite arriving as Jurgen Klopp’s first signing on Merseyside, the Serbian midfielder only managed [16 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marko-grujic/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/222813) for the club.

Last season Grujic made 38 appearances for Porto, scoring twice and earning a [6.89 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/marko-grujic/280835) in 23 Primeira Liga outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

There is no mention of a fee for the 12-cap ace, however, previously the Reds have [mooted](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-marko-grujic-transfer-locatelli-21067525) that around £13million would see a deal happen.

Valued at £13.5million and contracted until 2023 at Anfield ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marko-grujic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/222813)), Liverpool will no doubt be delighted to cash in during this window.

As Romano alludes to, Klopp and co have been [waiting on players to begin to leave](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-sell-11-players-millions-20264292) in order to focus on incomings – Grujic could be just the start.
