# Virals: Game in numbers as Fabinho earns second consecutive MOM award

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/16/jurgen-klopp-admits-liverpool-lost-the-plot-before-half-time/) midfielder [Fabinho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/13/liverpool-fabinho-motm-leeds/) was in fine form as the Reds edged past AC Milan on Wednesday night.

The Brazilian ace was a [busy man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHVB6Ed44Ug) at the base of the midfield as those around him looked to influence in an attacking sense.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were in control for much of the match, barring a [poor 10-minute spell](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/sep/15/liverpool-milan-champions-league-match-report) shortly before the end of the first half.

Fabinho was somewhat unfortunate to end up on a side that conceded twice, as the statistics from [LFC Stats](https://twitter.com/LFCData/status/1438245951072870402) on Twitter highlight.

The 27-year-old earned an impressive [7.60 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/fabinho/243585) and was awarded [Man of the Match](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1438264026434318338) by the club as the Reds ran out 3-2 winners at Anfield.

Meanwhile, sidelined youngster Harvey Elliott took to [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/stories/harveyelliott07/2663522290048327267/?hl=en) to hail Mohamed Salah as a ‘King’ following the second half Egyptian’s goal.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

What more can be said about Fabinho, the man is beyond superlatives.

Amongst the [best in the world](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/fabinho-liverpool-worlds-best-defensive-midfielder-jurgen-klopp) in his defensive midfield position, the Brazilian continues to underline his importance to Klopp’s side.

Performances [this term](https://www.sofascore.com/player/fabinho/243585) have already proven just how big a miss the star was when forced into the centre of defence last season.

With Fabinho, Salah and hopefully a [returning Elliott](https://talksport.com/football/943319/harvey-elliott-liverpool-surgery-ankle-injury-leeds/), Liverpool could be on the brink of another very special campaign.
