The 18-year-old was named as part of Jurgen Klopp’s [squad](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/437527-revealed-liverpool-austria-training-camp-plans-pre-season) that will head to Austria for a pre-season training camp next week and capped off the news with a new contract.

Elliott spoke of the ‘butterflies’ experienced when playing for his [boyhood club](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12297657/harvey-elliott-confident-of-liverpool-first-team-place-after-blackburn-loan) and the hopes to remain on Merseyside for a ‘long time’ to come.

The starlet made a [Liverpool debut against Milton Keynes Dons](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/565822/verein/31) in the Carabao Cup having already become the [youngest ever player](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48162704) to feature in the Premier League.

Last season the winger, who was named in [Goal’s NXGN 50 best wonderkids](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/nxgn-2021-50-best-wonderkids-in-football/fnujhhs2t5f31n4r3s3y3l1hh) this year, scored [seven goals and registered another 11 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/565822) for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Kopites will be hoping they have the real deal on their hands.

Whilst all and sundry have been [queuing up](https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/eight-quotes-on-liverpool-hot-prospect-harvey-elliott-a-special-talent/) to laud the teenage sensation, including Scott Parker hailing Elliott as ‘gifted’ and Jamie Redknapp adding the phrase ‘real deal’ to the list of praise, this season could be a big one.

The [England youth international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/nationalmannschaft/spieler/565822/verein_id/21340) is expected to remain at Anfield and be used as part of Klopp’s matchday plans, perhaps even acting as an understudy to Mohamed Salah should [Xherdan Shaqiri leave](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9666427/Xherdan-Shaqiri-quit-Liverpool-Lazio-Euro-2020-Maurizio-Sarri-takes-over.html).

Albeit a huge ask, Elliott has already proven he has the [confidence](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12297657/harvey-elliott-confident-of-liverpool-first-team-place-after-blackburn-loan) and above all ability to thrive, perhaps even on the biggest stage.
