# Virals: Ibrahima Konate compilation appears on Twitter

Intrigued [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/02/kevin-campbell-lauds-brilliant-liverpool-target-youri-tielemans/) fans got their first sighting of their new man in live-action on Monday evening as [Ibrahima Konate](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/28/liverpool-sign-ibrahima-konate/) captained France Under 21’s against their Dutch counterparts.

Just hours after [completing a £36million switch](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/435628-liverpool-agree-deal-to-sign-ibrahima-konate-from-rb-leipzig) from RB Leipzig to the Reds, the 6’4 central defender was in Budapest playing in the Euro 2020 U21 quarter-finals.

Konate started alongside now-former teammate and Bayern Munich new boy, Dayot Upamecano, as a [strong looking French side](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12182/12321740/european-under-21-championship-ibrahima-konates-france-u21s-stunned-by-late-netherlands-winner) went in search of continental glory.

Following the clash, Twitter user [@PassLikeThiago](https://twitter.com/PassLikeThiago) complied a compilation video of Liverpool’s newest arrival for Kopites to assess their star.

Despite a disappointing 2-1 defeat, the 22-year-old showed excellent composure, [strength and passing range](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/345957/Show/Ibrahima-Konat%C3%A9) from the back as well as dealing with one on one situations comfortably.

Overall the £31.5million [valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ibrahima-konate/marktwertverlauf/spieler/357119) star earned a [Sofascore rating of 8.2](https://www.sofascore.com/player/ibrahima-konate/826215) for his display – including six clearances, two key passes, and a 100 per cent duel success.

Kopites can begin to get excited.

Given the defender’s [physical attributes alone](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/435630-jurgen-klopp-ibrahima-konate-will-add-quality-and-potential-to-our-squad) it’s hard to believe the ace was even playing youth international football this week.

The Frenchman looks to possess similar [traits](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/95408/Show/Virgil-van-Dijk) to likely partner Virgil van Dijk – making the prospect of the duo a formidable one.

With Konate now on board, Jurgen Klopp is now [well-stocked](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/what-liverpools-transfer-wishlist-could-20665563) in the centre of defence, leading to attentions perhaps turning to other departments in need.
