# Virals: James Pearce claims Liverpool are ‘open to offers’ for Divock Origi

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/23/virals-incredible-virgil-van-dijk-stat-appears-on-social-media/) are believed to be ‘open to offers’ for striker [Divock Origi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/20/virals-liverpool-forward-divock-origi-on-the-list-of-multiple-epl-clubs/) this summer as the transfer deadline approaches.

The 26-year-old was left out of the [matchday squad](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-burnley/teams/446303) against Burnley, alongside Nat Phillips and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Shaqiri has since taken a giant step towards a move away from the Reds as the club [agrees on a fee](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/22/xherdan-shaqiri-lyon-liverpool-agree-fee) with French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais.

According to a report from [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/news/liverpool-agree-to-sell-xherdan-sahqiri-for-95m-to-lyon/dsd7B1hpj70L), as cited by [Anfield Effect](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEffect/status/1429721457886699520) on Twitter, the Belgian could be the next player on the move before the window closes.

The report also states that the club are ‘looking to off-load’ [outcast](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7539183/The-outcast-Liverpool-nightmare-keeper-Karius-trying-rebuild-Turkey.html) duo Loris Karius and Sheyi Ojo in the coming days.

Origi was an [unused substitute](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/148368/saison/2021/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/31) as Jurgen Klopp’s side cruised past Norwich City 3-0 on the opening day of the season.

Last term the Belgian forward only managed [one goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/148368) in 17 appearances across all competitions – a strike in the [7-2 victory](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/148368/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/CGB/verein/31) over Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.

Allowing Origi to leave should be a no-brainer during this transfer window.

Whether a replacement is sought or otherwise, the Belgian proved to be [beneath the level required](https://www.sofascore.com/player/divock-origi/190399) all to often last season.

Valued at £10.8million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148368#:~:text=of%20at%20Liverpool.-,With%20a%20market%20value%20of%20%C2%A310.80m%2C%20Divock%20Origi,among%20all%20players%20born%201995.)), the club will be confident of landing a reasonable fee for the ace – perhaps added to by further sales elsewhere.

Liverpool will then reportedly ‘weigh up’ their options should the [29-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148368/verein_id/3382) man depart, with at least one forward arrival likely to be considered.
