# Virals: Journalist claims ‘agreement could be reached’ for Divock Origi

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/03/07/pundit-claims-liverpool-ace-sadio-mane-could-now-go-after-january-arrival/) forward [Divock Origi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/03/02/virals-liverpool-forward-divock-origi-certain-to-leave-this-summer/) is reportedly being targetted by Serie A club Napoli ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old has [remained on the periphery of matters](https://www.sofascore.com/player/divock-origi/190399) at Anfield despite having a continued impact when called upon.

Set to become a free agent at the end of the season should a one-year extension not be triggered, this summer could bring the end of the Belgian’s [spell](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/148368) on Merseyside.

According to Italian journalist Paolo Esposito (via [Area Napoli](https://www.areanapoli.it/interviste/esposito-napoli-su-origi-ecco-quanto-guadagnerebbe-fabian-addio-non-scontato_452336.html)), as cited by [ThinkLFCTV](https://twitter.com/ThinkLFCTV) on Twitter, there is a strong interest from Italy.

> Paolo Esposito: “Gli Azzurri could take striker Divock Origi, 26, expiring in 3 months with Liverpool. It would be a good deal to take him on a free transfer. I think an agreement could be reached for a four-year \[deal\] at €3M a year”.(AreaNapoli)[#Napoli](https://twitter.com/hashtag/Napoli?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#LFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/LFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#YNWA](https://twitter.com/hashtag/YNWA?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#ThinkLFCTV](https://twitter.com/hashtag/ThinkLFCTV?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

So far this season the [31-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148368/verein_id/3382) ace has [scored five times and provided three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdaten/spieler/148368) in 14 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £10.8million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148368)), allowing the Belgian to leave on a free would be a blow to the club financially.

However, few could argue that the time has come to part ways with the mercurial frontman and although there may very well be [yet another big moment](https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/build-the-statue-10-moments-that-make-divock-origi-a-liverpool-hero/) in store between now and the end of the season, this summer will surely see Origi move on.

Ideally, the [one-year extension](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1546764/Newcastle-Divock-Origi-secret-Liverpool-contract-clause-bargain-deal-Premier-League-gossip) would indeed be triggered and the Reds could at least get a likely small fee for the ex-Lille man.
