# Virals: Journalist claims Liverpool are ‘planning huge offer’ to sign Yves Bissouma

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/05/virals-mohamed-salah-contract-at-complicated-negotiation-stage/) are believed to be ‘in talks’ with Brighton & Hove Albion regarding a deal for midfielder [Yves Bissouma](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/27/virals-liverpool-reportedly-reach-agreement-to-sign-yves-bissouma/).

The Reds have been [linked](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/media-watch/441870-liverpool-make-late-approach-to-sign-yves-bissouma) with the Mali international for some time following the departure of Gini Wijnaldum this summer.

Now there could be [further competition](https://twitter.com/Ekremkonur/status/1431965329849294849) for the 25-year-old as Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly keen.

According to Turkish journalist [Ekrem KONUR](https://twitter.com/Ekremkonur) on Twitter, Liverpool are preparing a ‘huge offer’ in January.

Konur also claims that Brighton will demand a fee of around €35million (£30million) for the [18 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yves-bissouma/nationalmannschaft/spieler/410425/verein_id/3674) ace.

Since signing for the South Coast club from Lille in 2018 for £15million ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11741/11439777/yves-bissouma-signs-for-brighton-from-lille)), Bissouma has scored [four times and provided two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yves-bissouma/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/410425) from a defensive midfield role.

This season the Malian has earned an impressive [7.18 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/yves-bissouma/844842) from five Premier League outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Signing Bissouma would be a [major coup](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yves-bissouma/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/410425) for the Reds, especially in January as a mid-season squad boost.

Albeit manager Jurgen Klopp was satisfied with the [midfield options](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) at his disposal, recent injuries to Harvey Elliott, Thiago and Naby Keita have left the position somewhat threadbare.

Boasting a first-class [injury record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yves-bissouma/verletzungen/spieler/410425) as well as an [impressive array](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/303096/Show/Yves-Bissouma) of attributes, the Malian would slot straight into the Liverpool squad with ease and could provide a long-term replacement for Keita.

Valued at £22.5million and under contract until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yves-bissouma/marktwertverlauf/spieler/410425)), the mooted fee would surely be no issue for the Anfield club.
