# Virals: Jurgen Klopp confirms Naby Keita ‘will be ready’ for Brighton

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/29/darren-bent-urges-mohamed-salah-to-stay-at-massive-liverpool/) manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed [Naby Keita](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/29/virals-liverpool-handed-double-fitness-boost-ahead-of-epl-clash/) will be ready to face Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Reds welcome Graeme Potter’s side to Anfield for an [afternoon kick-off](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/match/2021-22/men/fixtures-and-results) on Saturday and Klopp will be hoping to maintain a remarkable unbeaten start to the new season.

Speaking in a [pre-match press conference](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/447454-watch-jurgen-klopp-brighton-press-conference) ahead of the match, as cited by Paul Gorst on Twitter, the German boss confirmed Keita is likely to be available whilst another midfield duo will be absent.

> Klopp confirms Naby Keita is ready for tomorrow.\
> \
> "With Fabinho it doesn't look good, it's a bit complicated to keep him out, probably. No team training yet."\
> \
> "Thiago trained in the whole session, but not ready to play tomorrow unfortunately."

> Keita looks good. We were all surprised, we were lucky – I think he will be ready. Fabinho doesn’t look that good. It is a little more complicated, not too complicated. Will probably keep him out, not in team training yet which is never a good sign. Thiago was the first time in training yesterday and we did a session where he could be part. We will see what we do with him but he is closer than last week, much closer.

So far this season Keita has scored [three times and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/naby-keita/leistungsdaten/spieler/302215) in nine appearances.

Keita’s inclusion is a huge plus for the Reds on current form.

The Guinean is showing sure signs of [becoming a mainstay in Klopp’s side](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/naby-keita/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/302215) for the first time since arriving from RB Leipzig.

Given the likely absence of Thiago and Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones could be chosen to line up alongside the [£28.8million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/naby-keita/marktwertverlauf/spieler/302215#:~:text=all%20players%20worldwide-,With%20a%20market%20value%20of%20%C2%A328.80m%2C%20Naby%20Ke%C3%AFta,worldwide%20playing%20as%20%22midfield%22.) ace.
