# Virals: Jurgen Klopp confirms plan for international Brazilian duo

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/15/virals-liverpool-reportedly-placed-84m-bid-for-federico-chiesa/) manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Alisson Becker and [Fabinho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/14/virals-fabinho-discusses-options-on-returning-from-international-duty/) will miss the trip to Watford this weekend.

The Reds’ boss stated that the Brazilian duo will instead travel straight to Spain in order to [feature against Atletico Madrid](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/match/2032666--atletico-vs-liverpool/) in the UEFA Champions League.

Fabinho played 71 minutes for Brazil as the Samba nation [beat Uruguay 4-1](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10095063/Brazil-4-1-Uruguay-Raphinha-scores-brace-emphatic-World-Cup-qualification-win.html) overnight, whilst Alisson was an unused substitute having featured earlier in the break.

Speaking during a [pre-match press conference](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/446053-watch-jurgen-klopp-watford-press-conference), as cited by [James Pearce](https://twitter.com/JamesPearceLFC/status/1448952621000187904) on Twitter, Klopp confirmed the plan.

> Klopp on Alisson/Fabinho: "The last game they played in a red list country was Colombia so next Thursday it will be 10 days and then they can fly back (from Madrid to UK). They could have flown into England but it would have meant they had to isolate from their families."

Klopp also admitted that Thiago would be unavailable for the clash at Vicarage Road due to a calf problem. Meanwhile, both [Diogo Jota and Trent Alexander-Arnold](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/446247-lfc-fitness-update-trent-alexander-arnold-diogo-jota-and-thiago-alcantara) will be up for selection.

There was however another blow for the Reds as the German manager clarified that the [£27million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/curtis-jones/marktwertverlauf/spieler/433188) Curtis Jones is out due to a problem picked up on international duty.

> Klopp also angry with England U21s set-up: "When we talk about federations, Curtis Jones came back from England U-21s injured. Great! It's hard to get in touch with them. They played Andorra, really important he played there….."

Liverpool will be hoping to remain unbeaten across all competitions and go [back to the summit](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) of the Premier League.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Given the [incredibly complicated](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10093563/Liverpool-considering-sending-Alisson-Fabinho-avoid-pair-facing-quarantine-issues.html) circumstances, albeit not the ideal scenario, this is perhaps the best solution.

Kopites will hope both Brazilian’s can return to the UK in time for a crunch clash at [arch-rivals Manchester United](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/match/2021-22/men/fixtures-and-results) next Sunday.

In the meantime, the availability of Jota and Alexander-Arnold gives Klopp [options across the park](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/443901-james-milner-on-palace-win-right-back-role-sadio-s-century) once again and James Milner could be moved back into midfield.
