# Virals: Jurgen Klopp confirms Roberto Firmino is unavailable this weekend

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/17/virals-liverpool-target-karim-adeyemi-admits-chosen-transfer-path/) will be without striker [Roberto Firmino](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/31/virals-liverpool-striker-roberto-firmino-out-for-at-least-two-weeks/) for the clash with Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Reds welcome Patrick Viera’s side to Anfield for a [3pm kick-off on Saturday](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/match/2021-22/men/fixtures-and-results) looking to maintain an unbeaten record in the Premier League.

They will be doing so without Firmino however as the Brazilian remains sidelined following a [hamstring injury](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/442115-roberto-firmino-injury-update-klopp-chelsea) suffered prior to the international break.

Jurgen Klopp [confirmed](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/443455-watch-jurgen-klopp-press-conference-crystal-palace) the Brazilian’s continued absence during a pre-match press conference, as cited by [Paul Gorst](https://twitter.com/ptgorst/status/1438827750371086341) on Twitter.

> Klopp on Firmino: "Not ready, Bobby hasn't trained with the team yet. That will be some time next week."

Firmino had featured in [all three league outings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/roberto-firmino/leistungsdaten/spieler/131789) prior to picking up the muscle issue midway through the first half against Chelsea.

Klopp also confirmed more [changes would be necessary](https://twitter.com/ptgorst/status/1438828538157797379) for the clash following a rotated lineup in midweek for the meeting with AC Milan.

> Klopp: "We spoke about the schedule, this one is normal for us, 3 games a week, Sun, Weds, Sat is a tough one so you have to think about this. We came through \[so far\] and the boys did really well. We'll make changes again, that's clear."

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Firmino’s [prolonged absence](https://theathletic.com/news/liverpools-roberto-firmino-on-road-to-recovery-from-hamstring-injury/6TWyVCMO2rax) is a huge blow to this Liverpool squad.

Still yet to return to full training, it seems unlikely a return to action in midweek [against Norwich City](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/tickets/442787-norwich-city-v-liverpool-carabao-cup-ticket-details) is on the cards.

Having a fully fit [front four](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) of Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Firmino is crucial to the Reds’ chances both domestically and in Europe.

Without the £45million valued ace ([Trasnfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/roberto-firmino/marktwertverlauf/spieler/131789)), one of Divock Origi or Takumi Minamino could be granted an opportunity to make a rare Premier League start.
