# Virals: Jurgen Klopp upbeat over Diogo Jota injury return

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/18/rio-ferdinand-doesnt-believe-mohamed-salah-gets-deserved-respect/) fans have become all too accustomed to negative injury news emerging from a [Jurgen Klopp](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/07/jurgen-klopp-hails-outstanding-award-winning-mohamed-salah/) press conference this season.

The German boss has left Kopites everywhere despondent previously when ruling out Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, [Joel Matip and many others](https://talksport.com/football/827500/joel-matip-liverpool-van-dijk-gomez-ben-davies-kabak-injury/#:~:text=J%C3%BCrgen%20Klopp%20has%20confirmed%20Joel,to%20an%20ankle%20ligament%20injury.&text=Liverpool's%20resources%20in%20central%20defence,due%20to%20serious%20knee%20injuries.) out for extensive periods.

Diogo Jota was himself absent for [almost four months](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9046659/Liverpool-blow-Diogo-Jota-TWO-MONTHS-knee-injury.html) earlier this season when the Portuguese star picked up a knee injury against FC Midtjylland.

Having made a return just as the Reds look to complete what had seemed an unlikely [top-four finish](https://www.premierleague.com/tables), the 24-year-old was seemingly [ruled out](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12308257/diogo-jota-liverpool-forward-ruled-out-for-rest-of-premier-league-season) for the final three matches last week after picking up a knock at Old Trafford.

However, [speaking](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thIifVN3dMY) ahead of the trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Wednesday, Klopp shed some positive light on the situation, as cited by [Paul Joyce](https://twitter.com/_pauljoyce/status/1394631439178768385) on Twitter.

> Twitter: Jurgen Klopp says Diogo Jota has a “tiny chance” of being fit for the weekend and will be fit for Portugal for Euros. (@\_pauljoyce)

Jota has enjoyed an outstanding debut season on Merseyside following his £41million arrival from Wolves last summer ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54214671)), scoring [13 goals and registering one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-jota/leistungsdaten/spieler/340950) in 29 appearances across all competitions.

Jota’s return for what could be a must-win clash would be a huge boost for Liverpool.

Albeit unlikely the [12-cap ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-jota/nationalmannschaft/spieler/340950/verein_id/3300) would be ready to feature from the start – the potential to use the winger from the bench would be superb news.

Not only that, with [10,000 in situ at Anfield](https://www.90min.com/posts/liverpool-fans-tickets-informationa-crystal-palace-game) it will give many Kopites their first chance to welcome the Portuguese flyer.
