# Virals: Liverpool ‘admirers’ of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/03/17/virals-serie-a-club-working-on-deal-for-liverpool-striker-divock-origi/) are reported to be ‘admirers’ of Manchester United forward [Marcus Rashford](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/22/virals-manchester-united-sweating-on-four-injury-doubts-ahead-of-liverpool/).

This comes as the 24 year old faces [increased speculation](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/mar/07/marcus-rashford-considering-manchester-united-future-over-lack-of-game-time) over a possible move away from Old Trafford in the summer.

Having previously been a favourite at the Reds’ arch-rivals, Rashford has become unsettled having [struggled for form](https://www.sofascore.com/player/marcus-rashford/814590) and regular football this season.

According to a report from [*Manchester Evening News*](https://twitter.com/samuelluckhurst), as cited by [Liverpool FC News](https://twitter.com/LivEchoLFC/status/1504454021561659395) on Twitter, Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of the Englishman.

The report claims that Barcelona are also keen but Liverpool have ‘made it known’ that they are potential suitors for the [46-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/nationalmannschaft/spieler/258923/verein_id/3299) England ace.

This season the man once [tipped](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8861473/Rio-Ferdinand-heaps-praise-Manchester-United-match-winner-Marcus-Rashford.html) to become ‘world class’ by Rio Ferdinand has [scored five times and provided two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/leistungsdaten/spieler/258923) in 26 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £76.5million and under contract in Manchester until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/marktwertverlauf/spieler/258923)), signing Rashford is becoming a more realistic prospect by the day.

However, given the relationship and lack of [transfer history](https://www.goal.com/en/news/which-players-have-played-for-both-manchester-united-and/1gobstzjxmcet1j6oy5hwbuf48) between the two clubs, a move this summer would appear to be a farfetched proposition.

There is a possibility of a switch in 2023 as a free agent, should the situation remain the same and Liverpool be in need of a [replacement](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) for Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino or Mohamed Salah.

With [59 goals and 32 assists](https://www.premierleague.com/players/13565/Marcus-Rashford/stats) in 198 Premier League outings despite his tender age as well as a range of [impressive attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/300299/Show/Marcus-Rashford), despite the links and lack of current form, it’s no surprise that Klopp would be interested in adding Rashford to the ranks.
