# Virals: Liverpool among clubs ‘waiting’ on Barcelona starlet Gavi

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/03/14/virals-liverpool-interested-in-real-sociedad-striker-alexander-isak/) are reportedly one of a number of clubs ‘waiting’ on highly-rated Barcelona starlet [Gavi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/16/virals-liverpool-linked-with-spain-starlet-gavi-following-explosion/).

The 17-year-old midfielder is [currently in contract negotiations](https://www.football-espana.net/2022/02/06/barcelona-gavi-ronald-araujo-contract#:~:text=Araujo%20and%20Gavi%20are%20both,year%20of%20their%20respective%20deals.) at Camp Nou but as yet there has been no new deal.

Already a [regular](https://www.sofascore.com/player/gavi/1103693) for both club and country, the Spanish wonderkid has attracted the attention of Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and the Reds.

That’s according to a report from Spanish news outlet [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona), as cited by [Barça Universal](https://twitter.com/BarcaUniversal) on Twitter.

> Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich, and other clubs are all interested in Gavi. He has a €50m release clause. However, Barça admit his renewal will be easier than Araujo's.

Valued at £36million and under contract in Spain until 2023 at present ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gavi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/646740)), signing the teenage sensation for the mooted fee would be a superb piece of business.

Possessing a wide range of [impressive attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/422937/Show/Gavi) despite a tender age, Jurgen Klopp would undoubtedly jump at the chance to add Gavi to the Anfield squad.

Predominantly a central midfielder with the [capability](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gavi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/646740) of operating in more advanced positions, this would be a no-brainer for the Reds.
