# Virals: Liverpool among ‘many clubs’ keen on Leeds United star Raphinha

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/22/pundit-praises-liverpool-unsung-hero-roberto-firmino/) have been named as one of ‘many clubs’ interested in signing Leeds United forward [Raphinha](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/14/virals-fabinho-admits-he-expected-raphinha-to-arrive-at-liverpool/).

The 24-year-old has been a revelation since arriving in Yorkshire from French Ligue 1 club Rennes for £17million ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54415316)).

Having recently [starred](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/nationalmannschaft/spieler/411295/verein_id/3439) for Brazil, Raphinha is now being recognised on the international stage.

According to reputable journalist [Fabrizio Romano](https://podfollow.com/the-here-we-go-podcast/view), as cited by [Anfield Watch](https://twitter.com/AnfieldWatch) on Twitter, the Reds have the exciting winger on their radar.

Following an outstanding [15 direct goal contributions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/411295/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/399) in 30 Premier League outings last season, the [three-times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/nationalmannschaft/spieler/411295/verein_id/3439) ace has continued to impress despite Leeds’ early struggles this term moreover.

So far the versatile forward, hailed as [‘electric’](https://www.skysports.com/jermaine-beckford)by Jermaine Beckford, has scored three goals in seven games – earning a [7.10 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/raphinha/831005) in the process.

Perhaps the greatest and only drawback to bringing Raphinha to Anfield is the Brazilian’s [preferred position](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/411295) being in direct competition with a certain Mohamed Salah.

Although the [fleet-footed star](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/300447/Show/Raphinha) can be played across a variety of attacking roles, there is no doubt where both would feel most comfortable.

Valued at £28.80million and under contract at Elland Road until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raphinha/marktwertverlauf/spieler/411295)), spending in excess of the market value for a player who mightn’t be the first choice seems unlikely.
