# Virals: Liverpool among trio monitoring Lautaro Martinez

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/13/virgil-van-dijk-delivers-training-pitch-message-after-euro-2020-decision/) are reportedly keeping tabs on Inter Milan superstar Lautaro Martinez ahead of the summer transfer window.

This comes from a report according to [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/man-city-chelsea-liverpool-lautaro-martinez-inter-transfer-exclusive), as cited by the [Liverpool Echo](https://twitter.com/LivEchoLFC/status/1392780403598106627) on Twitter, claiming the Reds, Chelsea and newly-crowned Premier League champions, Manchester City, are interested also in the 23-year-old.

The report claims the English trio have ‘asked to be kept informed regarding the potential availability’ of Martinez.

Capped [19 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lautaro-martinez/nationalmannschaft/spieler/406625/verein_id/3437) by Argentina and scoring 10 goals, the Inter ace was seemingly [close to joining Barcelona](https://www.beinsports.com/hk/la-liga-santander/news/lautaro-martinez-i-was-close-to-joining-mes-3/1682904) last summer.

This season Martinez has scored [16 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lautaro-martinez/leistungsdaten/spieler/406625) in 36 Serie A outings – averaging an impressive[7.14 with Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/lautaro-martinez/823984) in that time.

Dubbed an [‘impressive forward’](https://www.90min.com/posts/lionel-messi-lavishes-praise-on-lautaro-martinez-as-rumours-of-summer-move-continue-to-swirl-01e8c0jxkksq) by compatriot and [six times Ballon d’Or](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lionel-messi/erfolge/spieler/28003)winner Lionel Messi, the frontman has certainly caught the eye whilst lighting up the San Siro.

There’s no doubt Jurgen Klopp needs to add a [proven goalscorer to his ranks](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-jamie-carragher-transfer-mbappe-19877239) this summer, ideally one who can operate as a focal point not to disturb [Mohamed Salah](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/12/carragher-salah-pl-tots/).

Martinez ticks both boxes and given the [financial difficulties](https://www.republicworld.com/sports-news/football-news/inter-milan-financial-problems-are-serious-javier-zanetti-on-serie-a-champions-woes.html) mentioned in the report at Inter, could be made available for around £70million.

Valued at £63million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lautaro-martinez/marktwertverlauf/spieler/406625)) and already an [elite level goal-getter](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lautaro-martinez/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/406625) – the Reds would be reticent were they to miss out on the Argentinian ace.
