# Virals: Liverpool ‘closely’ following Juventus star Paulo Dybala

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/04/pundit-predicts-fa-cup-comeback-for-gifted-liverpool-star-harvey-elliott/) are reported to be ‘closely’ following the contract situation around Juventus star [Paulo Dybala](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/27/virals-liverpool-fans-dismiss-embarrassing-links-to-paulo-dybala/).

The 28-year-old has seemingly become an option for the summer having [failed to agree to a new deal](https://www.forbes.com/sites/danieleproch/2022/01/19/what-are-serie-a-giants-juventus-going-to-do-about-paulo-dybalas-expiring-contract/#:~:text=It%20has%20been%20a%20few,an%20extension%20with%20the%20club.) to extend a stay in Turin beyond this season.

Now soon to be a free agent, the Reds, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are [attentive to the possibility](https://www.90min.com/posts/paulo-dybala-juventus-future-premier-league-talks) of a potentially ‘sensational’ signing.

That’s according to a report from [Tutto Mercato Web](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/i-in-scadenza-i-rinnovo-inter-o-liverpool-dybala-e-la-juventus-puo-finire-davvero-1641532), as cited by [Liverpool FC News](https://twitter.com/LivEchoLFC/status/1489508273208401921) on Twitter.

The report claims that the [32-cap Argentina ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-dybala/nationalmannschaft/spieler/206050/verein_id/3437) will require a ‘heavy salary’ but Liverpool have ‘followed him closely’ as a possible replacement for Roberto Firmino.

So far this season Dybala – once hailed as [‘special’](https://www.sportmob.com/en/news/23680-legends-praise-special-dybala) by Alessandro Del Piero – has [scored 11 times and provided four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-dybala/leistungsdaten/spieler/206050) in 23 appearances across all competitions.

Still holding a market value of £45million despite being a free agent in a matter of months ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-dybala/marktwertverlauf/spieler/206050)), signing the Argentinian would be a superb piece of business from the Reds.

In the prime of what has already been a wonderfully [trophy-laden](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-dybala/erfolge/spieler/206050) career, Dybala would have plenty left in the tank to offer Jurgen Klopp’s side.

As the German manager looks to rejuvenate the attacking line, as a [renowned false nine](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-dybala/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/206050) or second striker, bringing the star to Merseyside without a fee is a no-brainer.
