# Virals: Liverpool complete Bobby Clark transfer from Newcastle United

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/08/26/virals-liverpool-enquire-over-yves-bissouma-asking-price/) have confirmed the signing of Newcastle United academy prospect [Bobby Clark](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/23/virals-liverpool-closing-in-on-newcastle-united-starlet-bobby-clark/) this week.

The Reds have developed a penchant for [snapping up the best youth talent](https://www.goal.com/en/news/liverpool-sign-teenage-star-gordon-from-derby-county/67o5zrimi4mo12b0hf78brd40) in the country in recent months and Clark is the latest addition.

Having already [signed Marcelo Pitaluga](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12099175/liverpool-sign-brazilian-goalkeeper-marcelo-pitaluga), Kaide Gordon and Harvey Elliott in recent times, the club will hope the 16-year-old can be the next to make an impression on Jurgen Klopp’s first team.

The move was confirmed by [Liverpool’s official website](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/academy/441767-bobby-clark-completes-liverpool-fc-academy-switch) and cited by [Watch LFC](https://twitter.com/Watch_LFC/status/1430842569278246912) on Twitter.

Recognised at [youth level](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bobby-clark/nationalmannschaft/spieler/712117/verein_id/30322) by England, the son of ex-Magpies ace Lee has been described as one of Newcastle’s [‘brightest prospects’](https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-lose-one-of-its-brightest-academy-prospects-to-liverpool-3360554) having been on the books since the age of 12.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Remarkably, Clark made an Under 18 debut aged just 14 in the [FA Youth Cup against West Brom](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bobby-clark/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/712117/plus/0/saison/2019/wettbewerb/GB18/verein/6943) – surely a sign of a promising future.

Given the [rise of Gordon and Elliott](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/kaide-gordon-liverpool-first-team-pathway-harvey-elliott) during pre-season, Liverpool fans can be optimistic that the recruitment has once again landed a youngster with the ability to one day break into the senior plans at Anfield.

From the players perspective, clearly, Clark has seen a well-trodden [pathway from academy to stardom](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team/player/trent-alexander-arnold#:~:text=Trent%20Alexander%2DArnold%20emerged%20from,winner%20before%20his%2022nd%20birthday.) on Merseyside – a route the teenager will be hopeful of pursuing.

For the likes of Clark, Gordon, Pitaluga and Polish teen sensation Mateusz Musialowski, the upcoming [Carabao Cup clash with Norwich](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/441625-carabao-cup-third-round-draw) may represent an opportunity to make a name in senior football.
